Todorov's Theory Of Equilibrium

The todorovs theory of equilibrium is split up into 5 stages. The stages are there to essentially prove state the fact that a story’s plot line follows the same pattern/pitch. The 5 stages are the following;
-
Equilibrium
-
A Disruption
-
Realisation
-
Restored order
-
Equilibrium Again
What is Todorov's Theory Of Equilibrium

A Disruption

Equilibrium again
The Equilibrium stage is the first part of the story. The first stage of the story often is the happy stage, the stage in which everything is pleasant and the characters seem to get along with each other. For instance in the film Toy story 3, everything is all happy and there are no arguments until they go to the day care.
The disruption stage is when there is a problem that occurs in a scene, which often tends to destroy the happiness within the film. For example in the film toy story 3, this stage occurs within the scene where the children come and play viscously with the toys.
The realisation stage is when the characters realises there is a problem that is occurring and that it is chaos. For instance, within the film Toy story 3, this stage is occurring when the character Woody realised the day care his friends are at is dangerous.
The restored order stage is where the characters within the film not only realise there is a problem, but within this stage the characters work together to attempt to repair the damage/problem that has happened. For instance, within the film Toy Story 3 woody and his friends try to escape.
The Equilibrium again stage is where the problem has been resolved and everything has returned to happiness. For example in the film Toy story 3, the toys has returned home and everything has been forgotten about.
